THE STRANGER

Words & Music: Nigel Cameron

Lord You were a stranger from a different land;

From heaven to a manger, who would understand?

The King of all Creation born into the hands

Of those he had created.

Lord You were a stranger on a cross of wood,

Sinless yet forsaken by your father God

The King of all Creation paying by his blood

For those he has created.

All of my s-i-n was forgiven

When You died and rose again.

I am a ci-ti-zen of heaven

Now the stranger is my friend.

Lord You are a stranger to the world today

Like sheep without a shepherd, we have gone astray

The King of all Creation seems so far away

From those he has created

Lord You are the stranger walking by our side

So many words of wisdom go unrecognised.

The King of all Creation foolishly denied

By those he has created

So if You are a stranger on a distant shore,

Help me now to know You as I did before;

You walked this earth before me

To be my King of Glory-

So reign in my life once more

Lord You are the stranger many will ignore

Yours is not the Kingdom they are waiting for

Yet the King of all Creation has so much in store

For those he has created

Lord, make me a stranger so that I can be

A slave to sin no longer, living differently

The King of all Creation shining out through me

To those You have created.
